Normal video and audio coverage.

The 9-10 Nationals have a new manager, Blake Butera, hired last October.  At age 33, he’s the youngest manager hire since 1972.  Here is his team (RBIs),
🌸 1B Luis Garcia (10), 2B Nasim Nunez (5), SS CJ Abrams (19, 6 HR), 3B Brady House (7)
🌸 RF Daylen Lile (6), CF Jacob Young (8), LF James Wood (15, 5 HR)
🌸 C Keibert Ruiz (8), DH Jorbit Vivas (2)
🌸 bench C Drew Millas, IF Curtis Mead, IF Jose Tena, OF Joey Wiemer
🌸 rotation: Cavalli, Mikolas, Jake Irvin (1-2, 6.16), Foster Griffin (2-0, 3.05), Littell
🌸 co-closers Clayton Beeter and Gus Verland, setup Cionel Perez

Zack Littell, who is now aged 30, is one of only two former Giants on the roster – he became “former” after arguing with Gabe Kapler about being yanked from a game back in 2022.  He signed a 1 year deal, as did Griffin and Mikolas, these three were the Nats rotation revamp.  The other #ForeverGiant is Joey Wiemer, whom the Giants got for “cash considerations” last November, before waiving him in December.  Never wore the uni, in other words.  Other winter moves by the Nats were trading some pitchers, notably including McKenzie Gore, for various prospects, claiming some guys off waivers, and so basically constructing their 2026 team on the cheap.

honorable mentions for Picture of the Post:
Luis Arraez, 4-11, involved in 4 DP, including getting Ellie De La Cruz at a critical moment
Jung Hoo Lee, 6-11, 2 doubles, 2 runs scored, 1 driven in, and a cool catch in the foul corner
the bullpen, collectively 10 innings, 0 runs, 3 hits, 3 walks, 13 whiffs

But the real key to getting out of town with a win was Landen Roupp, who pitched 6 marvelous innings, giving up only one hit, before his team finally broke through with some runs.  He and Robbie Ray are in great form right now!  His Picture of the Post is from earlier this season, against the Mets.
