Nothing will happen after December 1st, for the owners’ lockout will commence at midnight on the 1st.  We can only hope they invite the MLB Players Association into those owners’ meetings, and get down to some serious negotiation.  Dream on, as if.  There is simply no news of any negotiations going on now, less than a month out from the expiration of the bargaining agreement.  Note that the lockout in 2021 resulted in there being no Rule 5 draft.

Giants up for salary arbitration are Camilo Doval ($6.6M), Sam Hentges ($2M), Rowan Wick ($800K) , Randy Rodriguez ($800K), Ryan Walker ($1.6M), Casey Schmitt ($2.5M).  The figures are MLBTR’s estimates.

Giant pitchers worth considering for Rule 5 protection:  Joe Whitman, Henry LaLane, Marty Gair.  Giants players worth considering for Rule 5 protection:  Reggie Crawford, Sabin Ceballos, Walker Martin.  Those are from a list Jeff Young prepared, which kodachrome relayed to me a few weeks ago, and are just the few he considered the most likely to be considered for 40-man spots.

Picture of the Post:  Casey Schmitt, who with just over three years of service time, and coming off a strong season, is gonna get paid real money for the first time.

Barring any team news flashes, this might be our main post for a couple of weeks.
