In the American League, the 85-77 Guardians scrapped and fought to win the last three of their 5 game division series, to get the chance to take on the AL’s best record, put up by the 98-64 Rays. The latter have their pitching rotation all set up, after downing their opponent in three games. The schedule is Monday and Tuesday in Tampa, travel, TFS are games in Cleveland, travel, and then perhaps Monday and Tuesday (10/20) in Tampa. All games shown on TBS and HBOmax.
In the National League, the 100-62 dodgers will face the best record in baseball, the 103-59 Brewers. Needless to say, Go Crew! Beers all around!! Two in Milwaukee, on Sunday and Monday, travel, three in The Latrine on WTF, travel, and if needed two back in Milwaukee on Sunday and Monday (10/19). A few of these are on rabbit ears FOX, and all will on one of the FOX sports channels.
It is difficult to summarize the times, other than the days with a single game all use 5:00 WMF starting times. Details can be found here: https://www.mlb.com/postseason The World Series will start on Friday, October 23rd.
The Picture of the Post today is once again the late season excitement of Jonah Cox’ speed. We will eventually find out if he can hit in the big leagues, but it is really fun once he gets on base. Cox got a fair amount of experience, going 38 for 151 (0.252) which is a tick better than the MLB average BA of 0.244. However he struck out 65 times, for a whiff rate of 43%. Remember he was promoted from AA, which is a big leap, and the Giants will give him a lot of chances to succeed. That is, at any rate, a very fun picture to use for this LCS overview.
